MAKING SCARF'S for Cedar Lake Village

Parents making the finishing touches.

Mark your calendars for Nov. 29th.  At 4:30 we will be meeting with the choir members of Cedar Lake to visit and hand out the scarves that the boys made at the last pack meeting.  The choir members consist of both independent and assisted living residents, and they are very excited to be getting them.  Just in case you missed the story behind the "coincidental" phone call, let me fill you in....The choir sings with students from Clearwater Creek Elementary School, and has a Holiday Program coming up soon (we have already been invited to that...Dec. 2 or 4th...I'll get back with you on that).  The students are wearing gloves during the program, but the thought was that it might be too hard for the residents of Cedar Lake to turn the pages with gloves on.  They then turned their thoughts to having the young in gloves, and the elders in scarves, however, they were unsure as to how they would finance scarves for everyone.  Enter the scouts...I just happened to call this place about our "A Hug For You" program, and we just happened to have enough to outfit the entire choir, and the entire assisted living unit!  Thus, the choir gets first dibs, and we will then meet with the assisted living unit at their dinnertime (5:00) to visit and hand out the remaining scarves.  I know, life is busy...I,too have three kids and all the running that is involved with such, but please try to pencil this in.  I am told that the residents REALLY enjoy visiting with the youth, and look forward to such.  I believe it would make their day!   - Dawn Foos.

Thank you for all of those able to join us last night in handing out the scarves to the residents of Cedar Lake Village. The folks there were very grateful to have these scarves for their upcoming program. The scouts made up for lost points with Santa by doing this! The choir director wanted me to pass on an invitation for anyone who would like to attend their program next Tuesday. This program will consist of the Cedar Lake Village choir performing with the Clearwater Creek Elementary choir for their holiday program.  - Dawn/Ryan Foos.

THANK YOU LETTERS
